Photo gallery: Hazleton Area senior paints mural at HIP Center

Hazleton Area senior Alejandro Chirre is painting a mural inside the HIP Center, 225 E. 4th St., Hazleton. The mural features a woman wearing a fruit hat. Chirre said he was inspired by HIP’s food donations to the community and hopes to inspire kids to try painting.

Peruvian Boy

Bob Curry our founding president, and Elaine Maddon Curry, Program Director, both fell in love with Nicole’s, “Peruvian boy” painting, that they asked her to please re-create it in our building. This mural once finish will depict an incredible heritage and representation.

Two volunteers, have been coming down to our center to leave a little something of their culture and heritage for people to see and connect to.
