Locker Mural

Students from the Hazleton Arts & Humanities Academy studios and the academy mural club, had so much fun painting a large locker mural here at HIP! They created a colorful, stylized, semi-abstract design that features doves for peace & acceptance, reading and science for knowledge that captures the energy of the HIP Center!

They did most of the work in August. Student artists, featured on the signature panels, are: Laci Curvey, Fremely Paredes Torres, Yamilé Nader, Dylan Riofrio-Pine, Tatiana Hernandez, Anni Encarnacion, and Felicia Cera.

The project was led by teacher and Art department head of the Hazleton Area School District, Anne Vath Flowers, who came with the students and really brought life to a section of the center that had no brightness. Mrs. Anne states, “I’m so proud of them for volunteering their time and talents! This is the 4th large mural project at the HIP Center painted by current and former academy students”.

Thank you for your dedication, help, support and talent, now everyone will be able to see the great work you do!
