“Through my time as an intern at HIP I served in many different aspects of the organization, and through this mural I tried to capture the essence of that hard work. I hope this piece is welcoming to the people entering the center.
Through my mural I tried to pay homage to some of the original individuals that make the center what it is today, featuring seven individuals who have been at the center since the very beginning. I tried to also depict the different activities and resources that the center supplies and its association with the growth of the kids and their creative endeavors. Diversity is also highlighted in this mural in the welcoming words and also in the paintings the kids have painted. “
The mural was made on wood and done with acrylic paint, it was completed over a two week span in the summer of 2023.
