"Futurity” - HIP Corp United STEAM Mural
FUTURITY (fu·tu·ri·ty): the future time; of renewed or continuing existence.
FUTURITY Mural is located in the 2nd floor STEAM lab, which is the home of HIP CORP United; the mission of this student group is to help analyze and drive solutions for the root causes of food insecurity in the Hazleton area.
To symbolize “the future of renewed existence” that our HIP Corp students are pursuing for the Eradicating Food Insecurity Initiative, designer Christina Galbiati was inspired to create a modern aesthetic, and drew visual inspiration from historical design eras such as Art Deco, Futurism, Vorticism which are symbolic of optimism, change, and technology; as well as MUZO’s technologically-advanced functional education furniture.
We are very proud of three of HIP’s super-artistic students: Yohenny Tejeda who illustrated Vitruvian Man; as well as Bhakti Patel and Diane Arias for assisting Christina with the mural installation. This mural was completed fall 2023.
